Champadevi Hiking

Champadevi is one of the beautiful and famous hills located at the altitude of 2,285 meters in south west direction from Kathmandu valley and considered to be best for the short enjoyable and pleasing hike around Kathmandu valley. Champadevi is also the most popular pilgrimage sites in Hinduism and Buddhism religions. The top of the hill offers gorgeous view of Kathmandu valley including Lalitpur and Bhaktapur, stunning views of mountains and its ranges like as Mt. Everest, Ganesh Himal, Annapurna, Langtang and Gaurishanker. Beside mountain ranges, the place also offers the beautiful view of Bagmati River, Bugmati, Khokana, Pharping and moreover, hill to hill view also can be captured as Phulchowki hill stands on the right side and Chandragiri hill (highest hill arounf Kathmandu valley) on the left side from the hill.

Champadevi hike usually starts in from Pharping village which is 19 kilometers in distance from Kathmandu buspark which lies on the way to Dakshinkali temple (a well-known temple of goddess Kali with its own importance and significance). The hiking trail passes through the lush pine forest on well develop trail and goes gradually uphill for about half an hour towards the north ridge and then to the beautiful forest to Champadevi. It will take about 2 hours to reach the top of the ridge of Chamadevi. The ridge offers a spectacular bird’s eye view of the Kathmandu valley and enjoyable views of mountain ranges including Langtang, Gauri Shanker, Jugal, Dorge Lakpa and many more. Furthermore, while leaving from this place, the summit trail goes towards steeply down to the village of Champadevi and further through the dense forest which is rich with birds and other wildlife.
