Ganja La Pass

Ganja La Pass is a beautiful and demanding trekking destination around Langtang Valley area close to the base camp of the peaks situated north from Kathmandu valley. Situated at the altitude of 5,106 meters from sea level, this trek offers eye-catchy views of Tserko RI at the altitude of 5,000 meters and picturesque entire Langtang Himalayan range, giving the mesmerizing pleasure of being there. This trek combines with Helambu region and is one of the famous high passes requiring physical fitness as well as some climbing experiences to complete the trek. Ganga la Pass begins by hiking up the river through beautiful rhododendron forest and bamboo forests to the Kyangin Gompa, providing a good impression to the trek from the beginning. Ganja La Pass trek starts from Syaprubesi situated at the altitude of 1,500 meters from sea level. From Syaprubesi, the trail passes through the Lama Hotel (2,450 meters), Langtang (3,450 meters), Kyangin Gompa (3,890 meters) from where Kyanjin Ri (4,770 meters) is to be climbed, Phedi (4,200 meters) and towards the Ganja La top at the elevation of 5,100 meters. Camping is required in Phedi and Ganja La top as they are situated at high elevation. Continuing the journey, but camping required, the trail goes through Dhupka (4,040 meters), Tarke Ghang, Sermanthang, Kakani, Melamchi Bazaar and finally to Kathmandu valley. Various attractions and eye-catchy views can be captured on the whole route of this journey. Kyangin Gompa is surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks and is a home to Buddhist monastery is one of the major attraction in this area.
