Helambu Trek

Helambu trek is a perfect and short trek near to Kathmandu valley located in Labgtang region of Nepal. Even though the place is not so far from Kathmandu valley, the beauty of Helambu is untouched and unspoiled and hence presenting the beautiful Rhododendron and bamboo forests, waterfalls and eye-catchy snow-capped views of Himalayas. The best thing about this trek the area is less crowded and considerably peaceful in comparison to other trekking trails offering wide range of cultures and spectacular scenery. The Helambu trek is comparatively easier trek due to lower elevation ranging between 800 meters and 3600 meters which require less climbing as well as warmer temperatures.

The Helambu Trek does have different packages with different itinerary. The trek can start from Sundarijal which require about hour drive from Kathmandu. From Sundarijal in around an hour’s walk lead to the place namely Shivapuri National Park which is also a hub of natural beauties and sceneries. The trail passes the ways through Chisopani, Kutumsang, Thadepati and Sermathang and finally to the trek ends at the Melamchi Pul Bazar which is located in the Helambu region. The trail passes through thick mountain forests with gorgeous views of great Himalayan. There is also option of trekking through some beautiful rice terraces and a number of splendid Buddhist monasteries at the end of the trip.

Moreover, Helambu trek around Langtang valley offers great experience of trekking in the valley of glaciers. On either side of the Langtang valley, mountains raise soaring into the sky also offering pine forest, rugged rock and snow-capped peaks, grassy downs, slow moving rivers and swift mountain streams and meadows. Hence, trekking around Helambu makes you satisfied with everything that happened throughout the journey.
