Kanyam Tea Garden

Kanyam is a town which is located in ilam district of Eastern Nepal which comes under Suryodaya Municipality is also a good tourist destination. It is located at the height of around 6,000 feet from sea level. Its first foundation was planted by late King Birendra with depth vision in tea sector of Nepal which is located near to mountain Kanchenjunga (third-highest peak). Kanyam Tea Garden contains approximately 240 hectares out of which tea is planted in 200 hectares and produces about 125 thousand Kilograms of tea. Kanyam tea factory is located at an altitude of 5500 ft. above the sea level where the environment for growing tea is very favorable and hence can produce high-quality tea with great flavor. Tea of Ilam is famous throughout Nepal and countries outside Nepal as well.

Kanyam is covered in an external shroud of cold breeze and hills of this place are covered with tea garden which looks extremely beautiful as if it is heaven. Terrace farming in hills looks really beautiful and also promotes cash crops as well as tourism. It is also famous for view of sunrise and other naturally created beauties. Mt. Kanchenjunga, places of terai including Jhapa, Darjelling, Siliguri and Mirik of India and sights of Bay of Bengal can be seen from Kanyam.  Horse riding is most adventurous things to do in this place with maximum visit of different beautiful places around there.

Kanyam is located at distance of about 35 km from charaali which is in Jhapa and about 43 km from ilam which is considered as naturally beautiful place in Nepal. Fikkal, Pashupatinagar and Antudanda are some famous places which are at minimal distance from Kanyam. There is no any lodge or hotel in Kanyam so, visitors should return to Fikkal (around 5 km from Kanyam) or ilam for lodging.

Kanyam is very beautiful place and has to be visited at least once to to observe the real beauty of nature and also taste the real flavor of tea. Also there are different places near it having their own value and importance and has to be visited.
