Mt. Phari Lapcha, rising from yak pastures above the village in a uniform slope to the pyramid-shaped summit, situated proudly at the elevation of 6,017 meters, is one of the best ‘A’ categorized climbing peak in Mahalangur range of Khumbu Region of Nepal. The peak lies in popular Gokyo valley, close to the Gokyo village at the source of Dudh Koshi. The peak was permitted and added as trekking peak in late 2002 and considered as one of the challenging peaks to be climbed. Despite being challenges and difficulties to reach the summit, its climbers can enjoy the mesmerizing views of great Himalayas of Nepal like Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Makalu, Baruntse, Ama Dablam and many more peaks along with amazing scenic natures and surround all around. However, the first ascent to the peak was made in 2003 via the southern part of the peak in the spring season.
Trekking Route
Moreover, as a usual trip in the Khumbu Region of Nepal, Phari Lapcha peak climbing trip also starts with the scenic flight to Lukla from Kathmandu valley. From Lukla valley, you can start this amazingly adventurous tour towards the summit of the peak. You will pass the trail trekking through Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Dole, Machhermo, Gokyo and visit Gokyo RI (5,340 meters) and again back to Gokyo. Again trek towards Phari Lapcha Base Camp and follow a bit challenging and adventurous trail to take your step into the summit of this beautiful peak. However, you can capture amazing scenic and mountain views from this heavenly place with lots of excitements and happiness in your heart.
Furthermore, the descending trail from the summit of the peak follows the way trekking downwards to the base camp of the peak and follows towards Gokyo, Machermo, Dole, Namche Bazaar and finally Lukla again. From Lukla, take a flight back to Kathmandu valley, completing your adventurous and explorative peak climbing journey.
Best Season
Nevertheless, the best time to make this journey on is considered as in the month of September, October and November in autumn season and March, April and May in the spring season.
