Sisneri Makwanpur

Sisneri is the natural swimming pool located in Makwanpur district of central Nepal. This beautiful spot lies in a remote village and is one of the popular places to spend a day here. The key attraction of the place is the swimming pool which has a beautiful view of its own in its aqua-green color. The beautiful place is surrounded by large rocks and green water in the large rocks provides an impressive look of Sisneri. Besides the main swimming pool, there are many other small pools you can visit too. Sinseri trip can be completed in a day and swimming experience is the best things to do here. The swimming pool is actually the running water but is the cleanest pond you might have ever seen, even though it appears green.

Basically, there are two ways to get into this place from Kathmandu valley. The most popular route starts from Dakshinkali. You can just blindly follow the road which will lead you to reach Sisneri VDC. The trail will meet the police check post where you have to show them your papers. After leaving the check post, you will arrive at a suspension bridge and further a small river. You have to cross that river to reach the main destination. The whole trail takes around 3-4 hours in private vehicle (i.e. bikes). Alternatively, the shorter and less rough route is started from Bungamati in Bhaisepati but the paths are narrow and rough too, so you should care about the way too. However, this natural swimming pool recently comes into limelight among the adventure seekers.  Cold natural water and the crystal clear blue water offer the view of the bed of the pool which is amazing.

Nevertheless, the entrance fee of Rs.50 per person needs to be paid to get into the swimming pool area. Being located in the remote area also, this place provides changing rooms for the swimmers too. However, the place is becoming a popular destination for adventure seekers and the only attraction here (i.e. natural swimming pool) attracts many tourists for spending a small time of their life swimming in this pool.
