Tistung Deurali Makwanpur

Tistung Deurali is a VDC in Makwanpur district of central Nepal. Deurali refers to the resting place as this place used to be the resting place when Tribhuwan Highway was the only road to the capital city of Nepal i.e. Kathmandu valley. Many buses used to stop here for lunch, rest which used to feature pure Nepali food like Daal, Bhat, Tarkari, Achar, etc. for the travelers. Beside the fact of the previous time, the place is equally famous in today’s day too. Bajrabarahi festival (festival of Tantric goddess) is held in this beautiful place once in every three years on Saturday of the full moon on May (according to Nepali Calendar, Chandi Purnima). Similarly, one of the great festivals, Bajrabarahi ko Naach (Dance of Bajrabarahi), is held in Tistung village once in every 12 years whose major purpose is to create a new Dhami whose duty will be to conduct religious affairs to the village.
